Whether youre going bare-bottom or using a sand bed, placing foundation pieces spaced approximately 611 apart creates excellent flow beneath the rockwork and prevents debris from settling, promoting a cleaner, healthier system.

How Much Foundation Rock Do You Need?

Rather than using the standard pound per gallon rule, we recommend using approximately one piece of foundation rock per foot of tank length. Having a few extra pieces on hand offers greater creative freedom and helps ensure every part of your scape is supported while allowing for proper water flow.

Rock is naturally fragile and some breakage may occur during shipping. While we inspect and securely pack each box, carrier handling is beyond our control. Shipping insurance does not cover breakage, so we cannot offer replacements
